Starting nursery is a milestone for the whole family. Tears at the door are normal — and they usually stop within minutes of you leaving.
How settling-in sessions work
We build up gradually: a short visit with you, then a short session without you, then a longer stay including a meal or a nap. Your child's key person leads each step and adjusts the pace to suit them.
What helps at home
- Talk positively about nursery in the weeks beforehand
- Practise the morning routine so the day itself feels familiar
- Keep goodbyes short, warm and consistent
- Send a comforter — a favourite toy or blanket makes a real difference
You'll get daily updates from your child's key person, so you always know how the day went, what they ate and how they slept.
